Educational Resources in The Woodlands

Educational Opportunities in The Woodlands

When it comes to schools, both public and private, few areas around Houston can top The Woodlands in terms of quality and quantity. Most of The Woodlands is served by Conroe Independent School District with portions of the area also being served by Tomball Independent School District. There are 11 elementary schools, five junior high and intermediate schools and two high schools in Conroe ISD. Additionally, The Woodlands calls ten other schools’ home that include magnet schools, charter schools and religious private schools. If you are moving to The Woodlands, then you will certainly have options when it comes to your children’s education.

Next, we can consider the Lone Star College complexes which are in and around The Woodlands. Lone Star College is a mainly two-year college that serves southeast Texas. Lone Star College offers traditional associates degrees and a range of vocational certifications that range of the trades to cosmetology. There are campuses for Lone Star College both in The Woodlands and in neighboring Tomball. These schools are a great option whether you have children that are of college-age, or you would like to go back to school to complete a degree or earn a certification after relocating to Texas.

Finally, The Woodlands is near world-class four-year colleges. Sam Houston State University, renowned for its criminal justice program, is located just north on Interstate 45 in Huntsville. Additionally, Sam Houston has a campus in The Woodlands which would allow you to earn a college degree right in your own backyard. Universities such as the University of Houston, Rice University, Houston Baptist University and Prairie View A&M University are all within an hour’s drive of The Woodlands. With so many options available to you, the only question is what school suits you and your family best.
