Educational System and Opportunities in Cypress

educational system

When you call Cypress home, you gain the opportunity to take advantage of all this suburb has to offer in terms of educational system and opportunities. Whether it be for you or for a family member, Cypress has everything you could possibly expect from a large suburban community outside of our country’s largest and most diverse cities.

If you are in the process of moving to Cypress, then it is important for you to learn what school(s) your children are zoned to attend. One of the major differences between many suburbs of Houston and Cypress is that Cypress has only one public school district which serves its community: Cypress Fairbanks ISD. Cy Fair, as it is known locally, is the third largest school district in the State of Texas. High schools participate in 6A sports- the highest designation of high school sports in our state.

There are number private schools in Cypess that could suit your children if your preference is for private schools over public schools. Cypress Christian School, The Woods Private School, Covenant Academy are great examples of private schools that are extremely competitive in Cypress. Of course, the public schools in Cypress are extremely competitive with many Cy-Fair schools ranking among the best in Texas.

When it comes to higher education, Cypress is home to multiple Lone Star College campuses. Lone Star allows students to earn two-year, associate degrees along with fine arts and vocational training. Additionally, four year universities such as the University of Houston, Rice University, Houston Baptist University and Texas Southern University are within a half hour drive.
